Partnership Effective: April 2007

Client Profile
Cascadia Capital is a national investment bank structured to meet the needs of middle market and emerging growth companies.

The firm works with private and public companies across their financing life cycle—from growth financing and later stage capital raises, including PIPE financings, to mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and other transactions.

At Cascadia Capital, they believe in honest, straightforward communication. They tell clients what they really think, not what they want to hear. And they will not pursue transactions that are not in their long-term best interest.

Business Challenge
Cascadia Capital was in an unenviable position where they had relied on a newly hired IT Director to establish and manage their network infrastructure only to have that person abruptly leave the company. They did not have a chance to sufficiently transition in a new IT Director and they were left with limited support. In addition, they did not have the necessary resources to continue the projects that were started by the departed IT director and did not have sufficient knowledge of any changes to the infrastructure that were made by him.

Cascadia Capital had options. They are a professional organization that maintains a steady operation to run a solid business. This was an instance where they were open to technical solutions that varied from the traditional approach of hiring expensive IT staff. They wanted a solution that could rely on without the steep investment.

How Unisoft Networks Helped
Since Unisoft Networks had been fulfilling some of the hardware and software requirements for this company while the IT Director was employed we were already familiar with set up. This made it very convenient for our engineering team to immediately assess the network configuration, document all the technology that had previously been implemented and learned how these processes were set up and running.

After our complete evaluation, we had a meeting with the company executives and reviewed the network diagrams and its current set up. We outlined a structure where Unisoft Networks would take complete ownership of their environment, and maintain, manage and support this network for them into the future.

As Unisoft Networks was already a partner to Cascadia Capital from a hardware and software fulfillment perspective, we were contracted to become their one-stop shop by providing managed services on top of fulfilling any hardware or software needs they’d have ahead. A network administrator was brought onsite for general maintenance and support, and our help desk team worked remotely to solve any user needs that arose on a daily basis. A network engineer was also assigned to this company, and all high level server issues were managed either remotely or onsite as was determined most appropriate.

The Benefits

Cascadia Capital was able to cut out the costs of hiring a new IT Director and save a substantial amount of money by filling this position through Unisoft Networks. By looking to Unisoft Networks, Cascadia Capital was able to employ a complete technical team to manage their environment. This partnership continues to operate in a seamless and efficient manner, and help desk, onsite and remote services during all hours of the day are available as we continue to assist with all IT related needs that arise.

Cascadia Captial could now rely on a team of IT Professionals rather than an individual. They no longer had to worry about turnover, time off, lack of in house expertise and inconsistent support. They were now free to view IT as a vehicle to greater productivity and efficiency rather than an obstacle.
